DO read the passage at least once a day

DO have someone help you study the questions

DO get some practice ringing a bell (believe it or not it matters!)

DON’T think you can wait until the last days and then “cram”  - it won’t work!

DON’T memorize familiar questions (try to reword them when you study)

 

 

SAMPLE QUESTIONS

from Luke 14

The following sample questions are given for new quizzers to get a sense of what to expect. 

Some questions will test your understanding (#1 below), and others are simply factual (#2).  None are intended to trick (# 10 below may seem tricky at first, but after studying for a month it would not be the least bit tricky).  Most questions can be answered in your own words, but some are specific (#3).  You are always safest to stick to the exact wording of the verse, if possible. 

  1. 14:1: Why did Jesus go into the house of one of the chief Pharisees?  to eat bread

  2. 14:2: What did “a certain man” have?  The dropsy

  3. 14:3  What question did Jesus ask in this verse?  “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath day?”

  4. 14:4  What TWO THINGS did Jesus DO in this verse?  “Healed him” and “let him go”

  5. 14:5,6  What was the Pharisees’ response to Jesus' question about the fallen ox or ass?  “They could not answer him…”

  6. 14:11 What is true of “whosoever exalteth himself”?  He shall be abased

  7. 14:11  Who shall be exalted?  He that humbleth himself

  8. 14:14  WHEN will he who helps the needy be “recompensed”?  at the resurrection of the just.

  9. 14:18  Why did “the first” man say he couldn’t come?  He had bought a piece of ground and had to go see it.

  10. 14:23  (T/F) The lord finally sent the servant into the byways and hedges?  False (HIGHways and hedges)
